Introduction

The Department of Computer Science at Yale University was started in 1969 as a small graduate department and began offering an undergraduate major in 1972. There are now 20 regular faculty members, 1 senior lecturer, 9 adjunct or affiliated faculty, and 6 research scientists; more than 40 undergraduate majors (15 seniors last year); and more than 50 graduate students.
